Christian And Catholic Funeral Parlours In Singapore

Wake venues can be challenging to choose when it comes to planning a funeral especially in a land-scarce place like Singapore. If you stay at a housing development board (HDB), you can choose to have the funeral wake at the void deck. What happens if you stay at a private estate like condominiums and landed properties? If you stay at a condominium, check if the management of the condominium allows the funeral wake to be held at an open area like the carpark. If you stay at a private estate, you can choose to have the funeral wake held at the comforts of your home if the place is spacious enough. If you stay in a private property and cannot hold a funeral wake at your place, then you will have to consider a funeral parlour to host the funeral wake of someone you love.

Funeral Parlours for Christians and Catholics in Singapore are mainly split into two main categories: Churches and Non-religious Funeral Parlours. Church of Lady of our Lourdes at 50 Ophir Road is a relatively popular option when it comes to hosting funeral wakes but it is currently under renovation till further notice. Take note that for certain Catholic Churches, they might have rooms for funeral wakes which are available only for their own parishioners.

All wake rooms typically have wreath disposal fees which are about $10 - $15 per wreath. Some rooms have a one time cleaning fee ranging from $250 onwards.

Personally, if I am a Christian or a Free-Thinker, I would choose the Church of Queen of Peace prayer room as a premise to host a funeral wake and if I am a Catholic, I would choose Saint Mary Of The Angels Church. Ultimately, which location you choose to have the funeral wake would depend on a few factors like the location and price. Choose something that suits you best.
