Review on the various Funeral Parlours

This is just a brief review of the various funeral parlous currently available for public use in Singapore as of today. They are just my personal views and might not hold true for everyone but I hope they do help bereaved families in making a more informed decision with regards to the venue of the wake. Most parlours range about $550 to $650 per day. Hence price wouldn’t be much of a differential factor.

1. Sin Ming Parlour

Location: 37 Sin Ming Drive

Nearest MRT Station: Ang Mo Kio, Bishan

Seating Capacity: 50-80

Presence of Air Con: Partially air-con area where coffin will be placed

Opening Hours: 24 Hours

Pros:

  • Relatively centralised location
  • Coffee machine provided
  • Attached toilet available
  • Wifi available

Cons:

  • As there are 3 units side-by-side available for rent to families of various religions, it might get a little noisy at night when all the services are being conducted together at roughly the same time.
  • Parking space is limited although many double-park when all the parlours are occupied.

Remarks: There is an option for Buddhists and Taoists to place the ancestral tablets at the back of this parlour for 49 days where food will be offered with prayers in 7 days intervals. So don’t be surprised if you see these.
